A few signals of bed bugs

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 27 June 2017 07:44

It can be a real problem for your home if there are bed bugs. But how can you understand that they are already here? Which symptoms are most common? It can be hard to detect and even trickier to treat. If you have not had such issue earlier, here are a few easy signs which can help you know if you have a bed bug problem.

1) Discomforting nights

It is more likely that you will notice these “animals” in your bed. Bugs are more active at night, so you will find it hard to sleep normally. If you have been sleeping badly for a while, it's more likely that bed bugs are the problem.

2) Red and itchy bites

In general, people notice bed bugs when they find little bites on their body. You may notice bites in straight rows on your hands and legs. Actually, they don’t spread really dangerous diseases to humans but their bites can be irritating. If you scratch, it can lead to bleeding and infection. Have you already noticed something like this? Call professionals immediately! For the record, there is no difference if you live in a small town like New Market or Edmonton. Nowadays there are plenty of companies which provide services of the pest control. For example, you can visit a website respondersedmonton.ca and read about bed bugs removal and control in Edmonton.

3) Signs in your bed

Try to inspect your bed for unusual things. Take a magnifying glass and a flashlight. You're searching for rust-colored, reddish-brown blood stains and/or small brown ovals (molted bed bug skin).

4) The smell

Do you feel a strong and unpleasant odor like that of a wet towel? It is one more symptom of bugs in your house. Bed bugs usually spread special pheromones and they can smell terrible. If you are not comfortable with a strange smell for a long time, don’t hesitate and start searching for a specialist who is familiar with bed bugs removal and control in Edmonton.

5) Check a closet

You can find these “unpleasant friends’ in your closet as well. Have a quick look at the clothing. Bed bugs on clothes mean bed bugs on humans.

6) Inspect a bedroom

Have you looked through the bed? It is time to check a whole room. Pay attention to upholstered, including chairs, couches, curtains and the edges of the carpet. It is also a bad signal if you have noticed reddish-brown spots.

7) Marked arms and shoulders

Bed bugs always try to feed on exposed skin. Your arms and shoulders are tat parts of your body which you may tend to leave uncovered while sleeping. This is different from, say, fleas and chiggers, which tend to bite around the ankles.

Anyway, if you have noticed something from this list, don’t postpone an inspection and find a pest control company immediately.
