How to Troubleshoot a Malfunctioning Garage Door Remote

Written by Posted On Sunday, 05 November 2017 01:29

A garage door opener remote control is a useful electronic device that allows you to get inside your garage without stepping out of the car. For the remote to work properly, it has to be within the range of its IR signal-sending strength. If it is within range but still fails to function correctly, you can try the following ways to fix it.
Check the batteries. The most common reason a garage door remote fails to work is having weak or dead batteries. Make sure that the batteries within your remote still carry a charge that is powerful enough to operate. If the batteries are good, try to reset the system to reboot the circuit boards in your remote and receiver. To do this, remove the batteries in your remote for about 30 seconds, then re-insert them. Unplug the receiver from the wall socket for approximately 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
If this doesn’t work, it is best to call a garage door service specialist to fix the problem.
