Reasons Why Your Garage Door is Cocked

Written by Posted On Monday, 13 November 2017 02:43

You are about to open your overhead garage door and you noticed something wrong with it. Upon further inspection, your garage door seemed cocked. When this happens, the problem is most likely caused by worn or broken springs. These need to be replaced if they are broken.
How do you detect a broken spring? If you see a long spring mounted at the top of the door, that is it. It plays a huge part in opening and closing the garage door. You can easily detect if it’s defective if it’s stretched out which you’ll notice when the garage door is closed. It’s also faulty when there are already two-inch gaps in the spring causing it to lose tension.
Working with springs can be dangerous. If you are having second thoughts about working on it, it is better for you to hire a garage door repair professional. Do not manually force to close your door to level it. It will cause more problems that can be extremely costly.
