Garbage Disposer Maintenance and Cleaning Tips

Written by Posted On Sunday, 26 November 2017 00:59

Not all homes have garbage disposers but having one can greatly help in the proper disposal of food waste at home. This is used several times throughout the day so proper use and maintenance should be observed in order to make your garbage disposer unit work efficiently for a longer period of time.

You don’t have to wait until your disposer gets jammed before you remove any food debris or wait for unpleasant odor before you deodorize. This should be done on a regular basis. You can use staple household items to clean your disposer. You can use baking soda, vinegar and hot water to clean the unit. Mix equal parts and use a damp cloth to clean. You can also use lemon or lime. Cut the lemon in half and while the garbage disposal is running, put the fruit halves one at a time. This procedure will not only clean your machine but will deodorize it as well.
