What Causes Your Dryer to Overheat?

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 28 November 2017 00:38

An overheating dryer is a serious concern. Not only will this cause your clothes to shrink or burn but leaving this issue unattended can be a fire hazard. It is common for us to leave the clothes while on the dryer but it is important to check it from time to time.

The most common reasons why your dryer overheats is the venting system. If the airflow is blocked, the blower will be forced to work double time which can lead to overheating. Another reason is lint buildup that can cause inlet air vents be congested. It is highly suggested that you clean the lint filter every after cycle. Clogged ducts can also cause dryer overheating. If this is the case, your dryer may be too hot to touch but the clothes remain damp and moist. It is best to consult a professional regarding this matter because this can potentially cause injuries if handled incorrectly.
