Is video part of your promotional marketing efforts? If not, you're missing out on a huge opportunity to showcase your business and separate yourself from your competitors.

There are many advantages to using video to promote and connect with your audience.

As a realtor professional, there are several types of videos you can create to step up your game.

Testimonial

Testimonial videos are quite effective.  Having a client speak to your credibility is important and video testimonials are a perfect opportunity to gain social proof.  You can do one video and have several brief snippets ( 20 seconds or so)  from a few clients.

Home Tour

Video home tours are more effective than photo images.  It allows you to capture the home from a more entertaining and visually appealing perspective.  Especially for luxury homes.

Educational

Educational videos are perfect to discuss all sorts of related topics - from finance to landscaping tips.

Profile

Record a few minutes discussing how you will help your clients find the home of their dreams.    They want to know what's in it for them, and how you will provide them with a great experience.

Advantages of video content

Local SEO

Video can help your website or blog rank in search engines for local search.    You can significantly increase your chances of being found if you have several videos on your site.    Informational type keywords such as how to, why, where.  For example, how do I find a realtor?  These types of videos tend to be displayed near the top within the search results.

Several studies show video content  gets the most views and shares- more than any other content medium. A great example of this is,  The Dollar Shave Club.  This video has had 25 million views. It's also a backlink generating machine.  To date, this one video has received over 100k backlinks

Engagement

Video content is a great way to engage your audience.  If your visitors to your website or blog can see a face and personality behind your brand, this helps you build a relationship with your prospective clients.  It makes them feel more connected and part of a community rather than a static site with no personality.

Dwell time

One of Google's ranking factors is what is known as dwell time.  This a fancy way to say how long a user stays on your website.  The longer the visitor stays, this signals to Google, you have interesting and valuable content.

Google puts an emphasis on user experience and the better the experience the user has, the more favorable the site will be positioned within search results.

Where should you distribute your video content?

Share your videos where you think your audience will be.  For realtors, Facebook can be a good option.

  • Facebook

Upload your videos to Facebook.  Make sure it's a native video and not just a link to YouTube.  You will want to upload it directly to Facebook.  You can run ads using GEO- Targeting where your ads will only run within the area you specify.

  • YouTube

Consistency is key with YouTube.  The video quality needs to be engaging and deliver value to your audience.  Keep in mind, it takes a while to gain traction.

It's important to use keywords, a complete description, and take the time to make sure your profile looks solid including a nice header image.

  • Twitter

Tweets that include video have been shown to have 10X more engagement.

Instagram

Keep it short and sweet.  The time limit is 60 seconds.  Instagram prefers entertaining videos so keep this in mind.

  • Website

Create a page on your website that is a hub for video content.  Video content is a great method to communicate with your audience,  on your website,  or blog.

Take advantage of untapped opportunities by creating video content which is still largely underutilized by real estate professionals.

Grow your business with a solid video content marketing. Make sure to plan out each video and with experience you will see your videos improve.
