Accidents happen - knee scrapes, nose bleeds, periods, addiction side effects - and it can be impossible to avoid getting blood on your couch sometimes. Like most stains, blood stains can be cleaned off your couch, if you act fast. Here we will discuss how to get blood stains out of couch. Note that you'll need to test whatever cleaner you end up using on a hidden part of the couch, to make sure it won't damage the fabric of the couch while you're cleaning. What's more, the type of cleaning you do, as well as the tool you use will depend on the type of upholstery used in making your couch.

The common types of upholstery include:

● Cotton

● Wool

● Leather

● Rayon

● Acrylic

● Olefin

● Polyester

● Nylon

Unlike two centuries ago, when upholstery was usually natural, there are more synthetic fabrics these days which are easier to clean. So again - check the type of couch upholstery you have before buying your cleaning supplies.

How To Get Blood Stains Out of Couch

You need to work quickly, but gently so you don't damage the quality and shape of the upholstery. Here are a few techniques you can use.

1. Get a microfiber cloth or sponge and dampen it with water, then use it to gently clean the blood stain area. Try not to scrub too hard because that'll just make the blood get deeper into the couch. Start from the outermost part of the blood stain and work your way inwards. If you didn't notice the stain early and it got dried, use a brush to gently scrape off residues.

2. Add some club soda to a cup of cold water, mix the solution, and pour some of it on the stained area. Get your sponge and once more scrub the now damp area.

3. Keep adding your club soda water to the affected area and blotting with the sponge until blood no longer shows when you scrub.

4. For your next mixture, get a spray bottle and fill it with 10% glycerin, 80% water and 10% laundry detergent. Shake well, then spray it directly on the affected area. Grab your sponge and once more begin scrubbing. You'll do this a few times as well - especially if the blood dried before you took action. Try not to spray too much, you don't want to get your couch too wet.

5. After you've successfully finished scrubbing the area, and there are no visible signs of blood, pour some cold water on the area. This is to clean up any suds that would have accumulated from the cleaner you used while scrubbing.

6. Let your couch dry as fast as possible - within the next 24 hours. Use a hand dryer if you have to, or ventilate the room. You want to prevent mildew and fungus from making a home in your couch.

In Conclusion
