The Benefits of Installing Vinyl Fencing

Written by Posted On Friday, 14 June 2019 07:03

There are many popular options for fencing, such as chain-link, bamboo, wood, and iron. But one specific style that is becoming more and more popular is vinyl, and that is justly so. Although vinyl has been around since the mid-twentieth century, it didn’t become a popular choice for fencing until the ‘80s. It is very durable, requires low maintenance, and can come in an array of colors. But aside from the customization aspect, there are many reasons why installing vinyl fencing is very beneficial.

Easy installation

Vinyl fencing is designed to be easily installed, so you don’t have to hire anyone to do the work for you. This also makes for a simple disassembly. This can’t be said for alternative fencing choices, as the process to install one will likely require help from a contractor, whereas with vinyl fencing, anyone with little to no experience is capable of installing it.

Weather resistant

If you live in an area that is prone to strong and damaging storms, extreme temperatures, or lots of precipitation, vinyl fencing is a fantastic choice! Vinyl is significantly stronger than wood, so you won’t have to worry about it collapsing or rotting due to inclement weather.

Recyclable and non-toxic

Unlike other popular fencing choices, vinyl fencing is not treated with harmful toxic chemicals after it has been manufactured. The production of vinyl composes of natural gas, meaning it is a perfectly recyclable material.

Very low maintenance

Aside from the initial installation, which is simple to do, vinyl fencing requires virtually zero maintenance. This can’t be said for other fencing options, because especially with wood, it can be prone to mites and rot, which needs supplemental treating. Not only that, but the colors on wood fences tend to fade over time, and will require additional paint jobs throughout its lifespan.

Cost efficient

Because of its low maintenance, you will not have to pay to upkeep it, making it very cost efficient in the long run. The initial cost is higher than wood, but wood fencing needs frequent maintenance, and eventually, it can rot and will need to be totally replaced.
