Real Estate Branding Sets You Apart From Your Competitors

Written by Posted On Friday, 26 July 2019 04:42

When you think about real estate branding, you might think about traditional marketing. Using traditional marketing tactics for realtors, however, often leaves you marketing the same qualities (and the same benefits) as your competitors to potential customers. You blend in rather than stand out. Real estate branding can help set you apart.

How do you get started with real estate branding? What is branding?

Branding is one of the most dependable ways to attract new clients. Branding utilizes visuals, graphics, and written information to consistently present who you are as an agent. Branding helps ensure that your messaging as an agent stays focused and on point. It makes it easy for clients to remember you and to associate positive qualities with your business. It also demonstrates to clients why you would be a better choice compared to other real estate agents.

As a realtor, there are three places in particular where you can immediately create stronger branding profiles that will have an impact on sales: Trulia, Zillow, and Realtor.com. Prospective clients like to research agents online and will likely review one of these profiles. Having a strong branding presence on all three profiles can help land more clients. This is something on which we gained some insights from Big5

TruliaPRO, Zillow, and Realtor.com Profiles

The TruliaPRO, Zillow, and Realtor.com sites all have similar profile options that need to be set up if you want to maximize your branding opportunities. To begin, make sure you register for a professional account on all three sites. Then, you’ll want to make sure that you add a professional photo of yourself. Keep the photo up close and personal with a shot from either your waist or shoulders up. This should be closer to a headshot rather than a full-body shot.

Allowing yourself to be seen up close allows for greater trust and familiarity. Make sure that you still look like you, but “you” on your “best day.”

Next, fill out your bio. Make sure that your bio has clear messaging and showcases your unique persona. One of the most popular areas on these sites is always the review section. It’s worth sourcing as many recommendations as possible from existing and former clients. You can ask clients who have had a positive experience working with you to publicly comment on the process. This can go a long way with prospective clients who are considering working with you. It helps build trust, displays professionalism, and showcases results.

The final step is to make sure that your listings go above and beyond. Add in all of your prior transaction histories. Include as many details as possible. As you add in those transaction

details, be sure to include your current listings. Any current listings that are part of your profile should always include high-quality listing photos. If you have video, even better. The more visually robust your profiles are on these platforms, the more intrigued prospective clients will be.

Create Clear Messaging and a Strong Persona

The information and graphics that you use to represent yourself on marketing materials always need to line up with who you are. They need to set you apart from the competition. It’s important that you share what makes you different and how those differences can help your clients.

Creating clear messaging and a strong persona starts with recognizing what makes you unique from other agents in your area. How are they positioning themselves in the marketplace? What do they stress to potential clients? How can you position yourself in a new way? What is your specialty? Who is your target audience?

As you craft your own persona and begin to develop your messaging, create a style guide for yourself. Insert the real estate logo design you plan to use and your core color scheme. Write down the key points that need to be mentioned in your bios and on sales pages. Make sure that every time you post on a real estate site, social media site, or send out an email — that you are reinforcing your messaging.

Once you have this messaging down, you can also add this messaging to your website. When a potential client searches the web for more info about you, you want to make sure you are easily found. It’s imperative that those first few listings on Google provide a plethora of useful and convincing content. You also want to make it easy for prospective clients to contact you as well as learn more about you. There is only so much info that can be shared and displayed on the realtor sites.

You are always in control of your branding and its messaging. Take action today to create branding that sets you apart from your competitors. Provide clarity for potential clients about who you are and how you can help them. Establish trust. Make sure that the next time a client views your realtor profiles, they immediately know what makes you perfect for the task at hand.
