To go along with the open floor plan, glass is all forms is sweeping new houses. Having a glass wall or sliding door can open up any space, giving a feeling of openness. This is perfect if you have a smaller space or house and you want to make it seem more open. A popular way to add a glass door to your kitchen that opens up into the backyard. This opens up the space but also gives you a wonderful view of the land. 

Contrast

This does not mean that you have to have black and white everywhere, but contrasting are here to stay. The darker, cooler colors are definitely in right now and are usually completed by a nice white or cream color. It is a simple color switch that really makes a bold statement for rooms to stand out.

 

To achieve this look, choose what you want to be the darker color in your home. If you choose your kitchen, you may want to make your cabinets a dark blue or black color. You can then make your table or accents white or cream. This can be done in your living room or kitchen as well.
