When you decide to put your home on the market, it can feel like the whole affair is going to be hanging over you for months. It’s an overwhelming time with lots of forms, high hopes, big let downs and worry that you won’t get anywhere near the asking price.

But, if you’re hoping to sell your home as quickly as possible and get the price you want for it, then check out these 5 simple tips below.

Good luck!

Creating good listings

A potential buyer will look at the images you have provided first – we’ll get onto those in a moment – however, if their interest captured and they want to find out more about your property then they’ll look for the details. Your listing needs to be attractive yet clear and to the point. It also needs to be free of spelling errors and other grammatical issues, consider using scribbr for a reputable online proofreading service. List the dimensions and measurements of the property and every room, landing and outside space. List the key features and the parts of the property that will appeal to families etc. Give them plenty of information!

Advertise everywhere

From newspapers, to websites, social media and online ads, there are dozens of places you can list your property, so you need to get busy creating your ads. You need to keep ontop of all these listings and make sure you promote and share them accordingly if you’re using social media.

Photograph the front

The outside of a property gives an immediate insight into what the inside might be like, so make sure you take a pleasant photograph of your property’s exterior. Take a close up and a wide angled photograph of the front of your home to draw a potential buyer in . Remove cars and bikes and the kids toys from the front yard and try not to include any of the properties surrounding it. Clear the front of the property to ensure that the entrance inside is clearly visible.

Interior shots

Even if you have rooms in your property that don’t look good or simply don’t photograph well, you should include them. Take shots of every room and avoid taking photographs in front of mirrors! When you take interior shots remove bins and close toilet lids, focus on specific features like exposed beams or a gorgeously decorated fireplace. Open curtains and blinds and let the rooms fill with natural light. Let budding buyers see the potential in every room . Adding pretty floral arrangements will also look attractive!

Consider a virtual tour

A virtual tour of your property will always go down well with prospective buyers. If gives them a real sense of the property and how it flows. It’s like they’re really there! Do a little research into a company that can do this for you, and you could even add sound or a narration describing the rooms in turn. Or have well written text giving information as the tour moves on.
