Checklist For Performing a Professional Kitchen Renovation

Posted On Wednesday, 23 February 2022 19:49

Kitchen renovations are one of the most popular projects that homeowners are opting for right now, which mean that you need to make sure that your kitchen renovations are of the highest standard. The kitchen is the heart of the home and there are a number of factors that make for a good renovation to focus on, including attention to detail, high-quality materials and the colour scheme. So, how can you improve your kitchen renovations?

Planning

Planning is the key stage and an area that you need to prioritize. The most important step here is to listen to exactly what your client wants and to discuss ideas with them. This is sometimes an overlooked aspect of renovation projects and will make or break the project as you need to be able to deliver their vision for them with your expertise.

Removing the Current Kitchen

Next, you will need your client to remove everything from the kitchen so that you can get to work with demolition. You need to be careful with demolition so that you only remove areas that need renovating and to not cause additional damage.

Structure

At this stage, you will be ready to lay the structure for the new kitchen. Material selection is important here as you will need to choose a material that is resistant to humidity, moisture and heat. Plywood is an ideal material for kitchen renovations due to its hardiness and resistance to humidity and heat.

Electrics & Water

This is the stage when you need to re-fit the electric and water features in the kitchen - obviously, the supply of these is essential in this space. You should make sure that they are both working properly before moving on to the next stage.

Fittings

Next, you will want to add in new fittings to make this a practical and stylish space. This will include cupboards, drawers and countertops. You will want to make sure that you listen carefully to the client here so that you can create the right aesthetic whether this is rustic, modern, industrial or any other theme that they might have chosen.

Painting

If some fittings do not come repainted then this is the stage where you will need to paint these to your client’s specification.

Preparing

Finally, you will want to complete any finishing touches and then prepare the kitchen for use. This will include cleaning the kitchen and leaving no signs of work so that the client can start enjoying their new kitchen straight away.

Kitchen renovations are hugely popular right now and you will want to make sure that your renovations are of the highest standard. These are a few of the key areas to focus on, which should hopefully help your projects to be a success.
