The pitfalls of real estate agents’ profession

Posted On Monday, 25 July 2022 18:21

You can find a home or a buyer, draw up a sales contract, register the transaction and make the settlement yourself — if you have the necessary knowledge and extensive experience of such transactions. But most often, the real estate transaction — the most expensive and rare transaction in a person's life, so the necessary experience is simply not there. And at each stage there are many risks and difficulties. This is where a realtor comes in.

Working with a realtor has many advantages for the buyer and the seller. To get them, you need to draw up a contract with a realtor or an agency. But is the job so easy from the realtor's point of view? The profession seems to have many pitfalls, some of which free unlimited international calls can solve.

What a real estate agent needs to know

There are two types of knowledge — what should know and what kind of knowledge intermediaries actually have:

  • Realtor knows the area. For successful work, the realtor will need to know not only the area but also the houses that are in it. Before you start choosing a flat or taking a client to a viewing, you should have some idea what and where it is located. Which streets are in demand and what the differences are.
  • Is skilled at discussing the apartment. When a realtor is knowledgeable about his subject, he is at his best. The realtor must be ready and have all pertinent information on hand before presenting an apartment to a customer. A professional real estate agent should be familiar with all of the information that is accessible regarding the apartment or the home, and if not, should be able to direct you to the appropriate source and provide the appropriate response.
  • Understanding documents. An experienced realtor should know what types of documents for real estate are and who owns the home and on what grounds, can it be sold. Which of the documents the owner has, and which ones still need to be collected.
  • Knows who checks the documents. A realtor does not have to do the actual checking of documents. Specialist real estate lawyers should be involved in checking the documents.
  • Can negotiate. Negotiating is an important part of a realtor's job. He must work with each party to the deal and negotiate all the important terms. The realtor is paid for organizing the deal and showing the flats. He sells the product and must present it in the best possible way. This is the most important part of the job.

Very often the last point has to do with frequent phone calls, which have been a lifesaver for busy people lately. In this case, using video calls with Whoosh is an ideal solution.

There is not much knowledge required to work as a realtor. You need to be good at understanding people, listening to their wishes and being able to find the right property. This is the main competence of real estate agents.
