Garage Door Only Goes Down When Wall Switch is Held Down

Written by Posted On Wednesday, 25 October 2017 01:39

When your residential garage door would open seamlessly but you have to hold the wall switch button down for it to close, the first things you should check are the safety sensors. If these are out of alignment, this problem may arise. Begin your garage door repair by checking if the light turns on, if it doesn’t, replacement is necessary.
Furthermore, changes in weather such as rain, snow or direct sunlight may cause your photo sensor to malfunction. Humidity and accumulated dirt can block the sensors. Wipe it clean and also check any damaged wirings.
Another action to take is to adjust the limit settings of your garage door opener. Because of use, this feature may need adjustment from time to time. Improper limit settings may hinder your door to function properly. Should you have any problem with accomplishing any of these, contact your garage door repair technician for assistance.
