How to Lube the Rail of Your Garage Door

Written by Posted On Thursday, 26 October 2017 01:49

Lubrication is important to keep your garage door opener working proficiently. Lack of lubrication can raise problems such as unusual noises such as screeching and squeaking. Also, this can cause your garage door to open and close improperly. It is important to maintain the railing of your garage door opener, which is the portion where the chain is placed to connect to the garage’s ceiling so that it will operate smoothly and safely for a longer period of time.
Before you start, brush or wipe any dirt or dust accumulated in the railing. Afterwards, to lubricate the rail, spray the top with a silicon spray or lithium based grease. Make sure that you spray on the top of the rail because spraying the bottom part is not required. After you spray on the lube, spread it using a dry rag. Take note that you should not spray too much because this may drip on your vehicle. You don’t want grease on your car, right?
