Troubleshooting Guide: How To Deal with Misaligned Tracks

Written by Posted On Sunday, 29 October 2017 02:48

Garage doors should work smoothly at all times but there are instances wherein some parts are damaged preventing it to open and close efficiently. One of the reasons for these is misaligned or bent tracks. The moment you notice this, you should take action immediately.
If you are confident that you can do the realignment by yourself, you can check on the rollers first but make sure that the garage door is down. Loosen one track at a time using a screwdriver but do not remove it completely. Level it and make sure that you follow the ½” to ¾” distance on the edge of the door. After which, tighten the screws and make sure that these are completely attached to the clips and the framing.
As much as possible adjustment, repair or replacement of broken tracks should be entrusted to a professional because it involves meticulous inspection, alignment and needless to say, overhead garage doors are extremely heavy. Safety first.
