Both the Garage Door Remote and Wall Switch Won't Work - What is Wrong?

Written by Posted On Sunday, 12 November 2017 01:05

With the remote and wall switch not working, you cannot operate your  garage door. This can put your daily routine in a halt, especially if you need to go somewhere and your vehicle is inside the garage.
For the remote control, check if the batteries are drained. Try replacing the batteries with a new one and see if it works. If it didn’t work, you might need a new remote or receiver.
For the wall switch, it’s either you have to replace the switch wires or the wall switch itself. To diagnose whether the switch or wires are defective, you have to unscrew the switch from the wall. You will see two wires. Connect the two wires and if the opener runs, the switch might be the problem and not the wires. If the opener doesn’t run when you connect the two wires, the wires may be defective.
