When Your Garage Door Reverses After Closing All the Way

Written by Posted On Sunday, 12 November 2017 01:48

When your garage door opens up again after closing all the way, this might be a risk in the security of your home when you leave. You have to make sure the problem is addressed before you plan on going somewhere and leaving your house vulnerable.
The issue might be caused by an obstructed safety sensor. How does the safety sensor work? It stops the door from closing and reverses it if anything breaks the beam even for a fraction of a second. This can be caused by a dirty sensor lens or misaligned sensors.
The first thing you can do is clean the sensor first. Use a soft cloth and clean the sensors on each side of the garage door. If the door still reverses, check for anything stuck at the bottom of the door such as a small debris, a leaf, a spider web or a small piece of paper.
