What to Do When Your Garage Door Doesn't Open Completely

Written by Posted On Monday, 13 November 2017 02:33

There are two things to check first if your garage door doesn’t open completely. One is the travel adjustment – here you can set where your door stops in the down and up position. The second one is the force adjustment, which allows counterbalancing for alterations in the door conditions and weather to assist the change in resistance.
To set your force and limit settings properly, the door must be balanced. You can make adjustments to the door or your force and travel settings if your door doesn’t open completely.
If your door opens at least 5 feet, you must increase the up travel. If the door doesn’t open at least 5 feet, adjust the up force. If doing these procedures is too complicated for you to handle, you can always ask for the assistance of your local garage door service expert.
