Most Common Reasons Why a Garage Door Won't Open

Written by Posted On Monday, 13 November 2017 23:50

There are plenty of reasons why a garage door won’t open. Here are some of them.
• Power source is disrupted. It sounds ridiculous, but it does happen. Some tend to forget that they have turned off the main power source. You just have to realize that it is turned off to resolve the issue.
• Broken garage door torsion springs. If this is the case, never try to open the door for it can be very dangerous. You should ask someone with the required skill and knowledge to do the work.
• Snapped cables. This may result because the torsion spring broke first. A snapped cable is very dangerous if something or someone is in the way. Call for professional help if this happens.
• The door is off track. The door won’t slide smoothly and properly if the door is off track. Check the track if it’s bent, has obstacles or gaps. Hire a garage door technician to make adjustments if it’s bent.
