Troubleshooting Defective Garage Door Remotes

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 28 November 2017 01:23

All automated garage doors come with remotes. These make it easier for car owners to control the door even from a distance. It can be a great hassle if your garage door remotes suddenly stop working.
Here are a few basic troubleshooting tips to take note of when you encounter this situation:
• Check the batteries of your remote. An unresponsive remote is most often caused by dead batteries.
• Make sure you are within the range of detection. Some remote control signals cannot be picked up from a certain amount of distance.
• See if the wall switch is working. If it is, that means you probably need to reprogram your remote, or simply change the batteries. If otherwise, you might need to check if your automated opener is properly connected to a power source.
If none of the things above give any positive result, you should call a professional garage door service technician to help you out. The issue here will most likely be solved with reprogramming, or replacement, in worse scenarios.
