How the Garage Door Can Help Your Home to Be Energy Efficient and Improve Its Curb Appeal

Your garage does not have to be the most inefficient room in your house. Some do not even consider the garage as an extension to their home. Your garage door can greatly help your home to be energy efficient, well protected from weather changes and help improve the curb appeal of your house.

Make sure that your garage door is installed with weather stripping around the doorframe. It should be pliable, intact and seals out most of the air from the garage. You should also make sure that the threshold is properly sealing the bottom of the door. The trim around the outside and inside of the door should also be caulked.

To improve the curb appeal of your home, install a garage door that has lots of visual appeal. Do not settle for a boring, boxy and flat look of your door. You can create visual interest with vertical lines, horizontal patterns, windowpanes, barn door style cross beams and a lot more.
