10 Motivational Quotes To Inspire You To Succeed In 2018

It's that time of the year again. We are a week away from the New Year's and everyone takes a moment to reflect back on the previous twelve months to see how well we have done. Some of you may look back and be satisfied with what you have accomplished. While others may be a bit disappointed with what has transpired. Whatever boat you are in, this is the time to look at your goals and see what adjustments need to be made to take your game to the next level.

When I first began my journey as a real estate agent five years ago, I must admit I had no idea what I was doing or getting myself into. When I began the process of getting my license, I thought that I had enough people in my network and that I could just run some simple ads on Facebook and that that would be enough to get my business going.

I was very wrong!

Suffice it to say, I lost my motivation pretty quickly. My poor husband had to watch me sulk as each day I became more depressed then the last. I was only eight months in and I was  ready to give up. But then one day I stumbled across a speech from Tony Robbins that really lit a fire under me. I know it sounds corny, but it was one of those pinnacle moments where he said something that stuck out.

Here is what he said...

"One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.” – Tony Robbins

And that was a humbling experience for me because I had come to realize that when I entered the real estate industry, I was "dabbling". I was not fully committed to learning every facet of what is important for me to build my business the way it needed to be.

So it was at that moment I decided to "make the commitment" and as Tony says, "Burn my boat". The truth is, I was not all in. But after that moment, I removed myself from all other projects that were distracting me and dove in head first. I was all in and ever since then, I have been committed to mastering my craft as an agent so that I could create the success I truly wanted.

So for those of you who are still dabbling, I wanted to share 10 motivational quotes that will light a fire under you for 2018:

1. Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. – Helen Keller
