There are many shapes, styles, materials and sizes in which a roof is build. Although it may look like just a matter of appearance it is far more important to know about the shape you wish to get your roof built since each shape along with its different shape has its own pros and cons. Each shape has its own problems and its own repairs. This article concerns on how to take action against problems that occur with flat roofs. There are evidences of bubbles and tears in the roofing of the house and it needs to be repaired. Either you can hire a professional to do it for you in exchange of money or let us help you to provide tips to do it like professional yourself and save some money.

Now when repairing a roof one of the two problems can occur. First being a small hole or bubble or the second that is the issue over a large area. Although both sound like a same issue but the procedure to make the repair is different for both the cases.

FOR SMALL BUBBLE/HOLE:

Things get worse before they get better.” The same is applied for the repairing of the roof. If you find a bubble in your roof you will have to cut out that piece of your roof using a utility knife. You can avoid the cutting by lifting up the sides of the crack. This will allow the bubble to disappear. You might need to cut out a strip to make sure the sides lie flat. When this is done roofing cement is to be slipped under the damaged area and for this purpose you can use a trowel.

The next step will be to put a layer of roofing cement on the area near the damage. The area to cover is six feet or more than the damage. After you are done with this step embed some fiberglass in the cement and apply another layer of this cement. Make sure you feather the edges using a trowel.

REPAIRING A LARGE HOLE:

First of all you need to remove the area that has been affected. Cut out the entire rectangular area around the damage using a utility knife. The depth of the cut should be enough to get the piece out. Now use the removed piece to cut a patch. After this you need to fill the entire rectangle area with roofing cement. Use some on the surrounding of the rectangle as well. Now, put the patch on the wet cement.

The next step is to cut another patch which is 6 inches more, in both length and width, than the previous patch. Put another layer of roofing cement on top of the previous patch and while it is wet put the second patch on top of it. To make this attach better put another layer of cement on top of the second patch. Wait for the cement to dry. Once it has dried up use aluminum-fiber coating to coat the repaired area. Roofing Contractors in Lincoln Park Michigan are one of the most remarkable personnel to go for professional repairing of the roofs that is if you fail to do it yourself, which if you follow the steps you won’t.
