How to Create a Blog That’ll Draw Traffic Effectively for Your Real Estate Business

Written by Posted On Friday, 04 May 2018 18:42

Traffic is the lifeblood of any blog, and that goes for real estate and home improvement blogs too. If you don’t have people who are constantly checking in to see the latest posts, then there’s no point having a blog in the first place. It is also true though, that it is often difficult to get the critical mass of fans to make a blog become self-sustaining, in terms of the traffic stats.

That’s very problematic for someone trying to make a mark in an industry that’s as populated as real estate. The fewer people you get to visit your site, the fewer conversions you’ll be likely to make.

The good news is that there are a number of things you can do to make sure that your blog is primed for traffic and to make it easier to convert visitors to fans who check in regularly. Here are a few tips to do just that:

1. Choose Your Niche Carefully

You must have heard that it is essential to have a passion for whatever it is you want to be blogging about, but the ideal niche is also one that has a ready audience. It’s important to clearly identify what your unique voice is going to be in any niche you’re choosing since that’ll be your guide in tailoring everything from the graphics on your site to the style in which you’ll be writing the posts. For instance, if you’ll be focusing on a particular city or a specific type of home, you’ll need to clarify that up front.

2. Get the Design right

No one likes an ugly website or one with poor UX design that makes it cumbersome to perform even the simplest tasks. Your website ought to look good and provide an intuitive experience for visitors, and the only way to achieve this is by working with a professional with experience in that field when you are starting a blog. One design element that usually works to boost traffic is to place social media sharing buttons on every post so it’s much more convenient for people to share them with their friends, thus drawing in more traffic for you.

3. Identify Your Keywords

After selecting your niche, you’ll need to select the keywords you want to rank for in order to be able to prime your posts for SEO and increase your chances of getting search traffic. There are many technical elements and considerations when it comes to SEO, but the first place to start from is to use the keywords you have chosen moderately throughout your site as well in each post, along with whatever specific keyword you’re targeting for the post itself. Thankfully, you can use a plugin like Yoast to get this done efficiently, as long as you remember to implement local SEO that’ll help potential clients in your vicinity find you when they need the services of a realtor or a home improvement consultant.

4. Promote with Social Media

When it comes to getting traffic to your blog, nothing has the capability to give you a boost like social media does. If even just one of your posts were to go viral, you’d see a staggering increase in traffic. What this means for your blogging strategy is that you’ll have to set up and maintain profiles on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, where you’ll interact with readers and other bloggers in your niche.

You can syndicate your content using a plugin that automatically posts your new articles to those platforms, but it’s also important that you have a real presence there, in order to develop relationships with your readers and get them invested in the blog.
