Steps to Turning Your Bathroom Into Your Own Personal Spa

One of the reasons why so many people love the spa is because it is a restorative, therapeutic experience. Luckily, you don't have to travel to the spa to experience that type of relaxation all the time. You can create that type of experience at home. Consider these tips to help you turn your bathroom into the spa experience of your dreams.

1. Eucalyptus Leaves

Purchase a bouquet of eucalyptus leaves once every two weeks and hang them from your shower head. Eucalyptus has a strong, pleasant scent. It can open up your nasal passages and serve as a part of a therapeutic experience. As the hot water hit your body during a shower, the steam from the hot water will activate the eucalyptus leaves. As a result, the sense of eucalyptus will float through the air. To take it to another level, you can even build your own steam shower. Not only will this be a treat for the senses, it'll be nice to enjoy a ThearmaSol Steam Bath after a long, hard day at work.

2. Neutral Colors

It's important to appeal to your senses and create an atmosphere where you can relax. In order to do this, you want to include specific colors in your bathroom. Try neutral colors such as cream, light brown and white. It's best to make sure that the colors don't stimulate the senses in the same way that primary colors like red, blue and yellow do. If you're ever in doubt, choose an all-white option. You can't go wrong with an all-white bathroom.

3. Ambiance

The ambiance sets the tone for the experience you'll have. If you want to play on certain features for a spa environment, include elements of nature. Add a few potted plants to the countertop. If you're not great with plant maintenance, use a faux option instead. You can also consider adding a sound machine that provides white noise or sounds like the rainforest. It's also nice to include a few candles that you can light while you take a nice bath. Just remember to blow out the candles when your spa experience is complete.

4. Body Products

It's impossible to enjoy a spa experience without body products. Purchase products that cater to all of your senses. Try to use soaps and cleansers with natural ingredients. If you're running a bubble bath, add a citrus flair to your bathtub. Slice a lemon, one lime and an orange. Add those slices to your bath. Also, it's nice to throw in a few rose petals. This will give you a luxurious feeling. Once you're done with your bath treatments, instead of using regular lotions, try body creams and luxurious body butters. It's also a nice idea to use natural oils like almond oil on your body. Add a few drops of essential oils like peppermint and lavender for a relaxing experience.
