Cleaning the home is a must for everyone. One needs to pay attention to areas where the pest resides and to clean from invading your home. Its look good when the home in which we reside is clean and tidy and most importantly free of pests. 1. Vinegar:

Vinegar can be used to clean the kitchen. It helps in removing the scent, which in turn attracts the insects. Fill the bottle with Vinegar, add a few drops of soap detergent and water and then leave it open. Thus it will attract the fruit flies from the kitchen and kill them.


2. Bay leaf:

Bay leaf act as rat poison. Crushed Bay leaves can be left around the areas where cockroaches are present, the strong smell repels them. If kept in a bottle of beans and grains, bay leaf helps in controlling food bugs.


3. Tea tree oil:

It is diluted and applied on ant trails which would kill them and thus avoid them to go inside the flour.


4. Lemon Juice:

This can be sprayed at far-reaching areas which have cockroaches. The fresh smell of it helps in getting rid of insects and bugs.


5. Keep Cold Foods Cold!

■ Keep perishable foods cool by transporting them in an insulated cooler with plenty of ice or frozen gel packs. Perishable foods include meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, dairy products, pasta, rice, cooked vegetables and fresh, peeled and cut fruits and vegetables.

■ Pack the cooler just before leaving home. Foods chilling in your refrigerator should be placed directly in your cooler with ice or frozen gel packs.

■ Avoid frequently opening coolers containing perishable food. It’s a good idea to store beverages and perishable foods in separate coolers.

■ Keep the cooler in an air-conditioned vehicle during travel and in the shade at the picnic site. Avoid transporting the cooler in your vehicle’s trunk.

Following were the home remedies that can prove to be useful in food pest control.
