No-one really knows what the world will look like in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, but it's almost certain that working patterns will change. For many, their experience of working from home during the period of lockdown will have shown that it's a real possibility for them. For others, it may become a necessity when they find that their old job has disappeared. But there's no need to panic about this too - if you follow these tips for home working, the transition should be quite a smooth one, and you could soon find yourself making money in ways you never expected.

Online market research

There are ample opportunities to work for some of the many organizations that carry out market research for their clients in a wide range of sectors. All you have to do is register for a few and you will soon be invited to take part in surveys, and maybe even a few online focus groups. Some even provide products and services to test at home and then ask for users’ reviews and opinions.

Writing and Proofreading

If you have a way with words and a keen eye for detail, then writing offers countless opportunities for using your natural skills. Perhaps you could start a blog which, over time, might start to generate some revenue, or you could even offer proofreading skills to agencies who rely on home workers to carry out this essential task. Alternatively, there are always opportunities to do transcription work if it’s more your typing abilities you want to exploit.

Forex trading

Many people might be a little overawed by the prospect of trading in foreign currencies as a way to try to earn money. But these days there is so much help and support available that it’s open to almost anyone. It’s largely a question of finding a reliable source of forex broker reviews, doing some research and choosing which one to use. Because of the nature of trading, you don’t need a great deal of money to start and the broker reviews will even tell you the minimum deposits required.

eBay selling

It can take something like a home move for many of us to discover just how much stuff that we’ve accumulated over the years. Then, especially if the move has been an exercise in downsizing, it could be time to start selling some of it off. This is a great way of getting into the habit of being an eBay or a craigslist trader. And, once you’ve waved farewell to all your unwanted belongings, it’s time to start thinking about what else you can start to sell.

Website testing

Finally, many web development companies need to check on whether the sites they’ve spent so long building, work as well as they could and should. So, there’s always a demand for home testers. Generally, you’ll be given a set of tasks to complete on a beta version of the site and asked for feedback - paid, of course.

So, if any of these options appeal to, you there’s no time like the present to take your first steps towards your new home-based career. Here’s to your good luck and good fortune!
