You Have About 7 Seconds to Capture a Buyer

Written by Posted On Friday, 04 September 2015 14:35

7 seconds is all it takes to lose a deal. In that time the home you're selling will either make the cut or be cast aside like old leftovers. Is your agent aware of that, is your home properly presented? Unfortunately, most are not...

In that 7 seconds, you will decide if you want to open that listing, if my site is worthwhile or if you want to work with me. If your home is listed and a buyer is reviewing it, you'll have about that same amount of time to hook them. If that listing isn't compelling with rich narrative and illustrative photos, buyers and agents simply move on to the next listing. How many potential sales are lost because of poor presentation?

How likely are you to work with an agent that takes forever to return a call, text or email? How about agents that return calls only at set times during the day - or worse - something like "calls received after 6 pm are returned the next day".  The 9 to 5 world no longer exists.

How about an agent web site, how long do you stick around and try to find what you want? When you're assaulted with the "SECRETS" of this and that or the "SPECIAL OFFER" click bait, do you hang around. Or worst of all, do you "register" when you're hit with that?

7 seconds - doesn't sound like much time but it's what researchers tell us is needed to make a decision...a decision that impacts sellers a lot more than they realize. Hank Miller dives deep into this topic in his article 7 seconds to capture my attention.
