Landscaping is a good way to pass time. People usually do landscaping on weekends as they are free from work. However, most of us think that we have got innate ability to do landscaping. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Landscaping can be easy but it still requires some training and guidelines. People do not realize it until that make mistakes.

So, if you are beginner in landscaping, you must avoid the following mistakes in order to ensure that your garden do not suffer from your hands.

Not Recycling garden waste

When you clear the grass or remove weeds or shred, you should not waster them. You can instead use them instead of throwing them outside. These are the following things that you can recycle:

·         Grass cuttings

·         Flowers

·         Plants and weeds

·         Leaves

·         Straws and hays (only those that are not soiled by pet waste)

You can use all of these and can make a mix. Once the mix is ready, you can use them as a mulch. Mulch is a material that spreads around or over a plant to enrich or insulate the soil.

Placing plants at wrong place

Like all people are different, each plant is different and it has got different sets of requirements. Placing the plant at the right place holds an immense amount of importance. Some plants require less sunlight, while some require more sunlight. When you are buying the plants from store, do not forget to ask them comprehensively about plants requirement. Moreover, size required by the plant matters a lot. Ask the shopkeeper that how much area is required by the specific plant to grow. It will ensure that the growth of the plants takes place properly. Alternatively, you can get some service of experts for initial installments and discuss with them the requirements of the plants, so that their growth goes properly.

Planting far down surface

If a plant has got the ability to do a suicide, it would plant itself deeply. Unfortunately, most of us who are inexperience in landscaping do this with plants. Remember, more soil around the plant is not going to give it more nutrition. Excess of everything is bad, same goes for this process. It is going to kill the plant in the end. Deep rooted plants do not get enough oxygen that is mandatory for their growth. A simple rule to perform this process is to dig with the actual height of the box in which you have bought it.

Decreasing the size of grass to minimal

Cutting the grass excessively is going to make things worse for your garden. When grass is cut too short, it results in empty patches in your garden. Such patches become breathing spaces for insects and other susceptible garden diseases. The right way to perform this process is to cut the grass in varying lengths across the year. Summer has scorching heat and the soil requires shade. So do not cut the grass much short during summers. However, cut the grass short during winter season. It will help the sunlight to reach the soil properly as the intensity of sunlight is weaker in winters.

Fertilizing soil poorly

Most people do two common mistakes in this process. Either they do not fertilize their soil, or they fertilize it excessively that causes damage. When fertilizing the soil, right type of fertilizer and proper timings are mandatory. Fertilizing your garden soil twice a year is a great idea. You can fertilize the soil in spring and fall. After you have fertilized the soil, apply water on the soil.

No variety in garden

Many people buy plants without proper planning. When the plants grow, the variety is not present in their garden. This results in a bad feeling for people as one color garden do not look beautiful. In order to ensure the beauty of the garden, you must plan your buying and look for different color plants. That will make your garden look beautiful. Moreover, same plants will suck away same nutrient from your garden and less variety will make the soil of your garden nutrient deficient. Different variety will ensure that all type of nutrients stay in your garden for a longer period of time.
